The Odunde Festival has been described as the largest African American festival in America, and has been going strong for just over 40 years. On June 11th the festival comes to Philadelphia yet again to take over 12 city-blocks and attract over 500,000 attendees with more than 100 vendors selling art and crafts, along with delicious food. The CEO Oshunbumi Fernandez says that they are “more than just a festival” because they focus on the cultural impact of such a large celebration.
There will be opportunities for the public to engage in different events such as a political round table, yoga class, pottery class, and several different speakers addressing a variety of topics. More information about this wonderful festival can be found at http://bit.ly/2sc5bn1.
